Woman in Chico’s Chapman neighborhood allegedly stabbed by teen – Chico Enterprise Record.

CHICO — The Butte County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a teenage boy who allegedly stabbed a woman in her 50s about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at the corner of Guill Street and Cleveland Avenue.

The attack took place just yards from the victim’s Guill Street residence.

The victim wasn’t identified Wednesday. Sheriff’s Sgt. Steve Pelton said she suffered a single stab wound to the left side of her torso, about four inches below the armpit.

The suspect, 15, allegedly used a knife with a four-inch blade. He fled from the scene on a green bicycle, taking the knife with him.

A witness said the teen returned to the area before deputies arrived and reportedly yelled out, “I didn’t do it.”

She said the victim and the teen were arguing at the corner. She said the boy was cursing and saying something similar to, “Get me some money.”

The stabbing occurred after a second woman, identified as the mother of the victim, arrived and tried to intervene in the argument.

An extensive search of the area by deputies and Chico police failed to locate the suspect Wednesday morning.

Investigators supplied his name, but it isn’t being used here due to his age.

The suspect is described as tall and slim with red hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and dark-colored shorts. He also had a backpack of unknown color.

The woman was taken to Enloe Medical Center for treatment of a wound that was not considered life-threatening.

The witness said a woman

related to the victim reported being threatened by the teenager at knifepoint on Tuesday.

Anyone with information about the stabbing, or the alleged suspect, is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 538-7434.
